Stretch Goal #4 Unlocked: "The Mangrove Swamp"
almost 5 years ago – Fri, May 31, 2019 at 05:03:40 PM

Time for an unlock, perfect before we head on into the Memorial Day weekend (those of us in the US anyway). This is one of the first stretch goals started/conceived before the KS even began, so I'm excited to share it!

For terrain, we have some awesome Mangrove trees, modeled by my friends over at Mystic  Realm.  Then we add a modular boardwalk. This boardwalk is pretty nifty - it has "tabbed" platforms that snap-fit into the pylons, with adjustable height (so sections can overlap or be lower/higher), and is configurable to make anything from a small country boardwalk in a harbor town to a huge marina pier in a shipping hub. The pieces print supportless and very fast. I'm releasing a DungeonStick set for smaller, lower docks shortly too to complement these backer-only ones. We move onto the Ship Shack, where an old craft pirate crew hides away with their treasures, and keep lookout from the repurposed crows nest watchtower. A  sunken ship marks the hazards of the swamp for would-be thieves.

For minis, we start with three brutish Shark Men - perfect for kicking ass all along the coasts of the Atoll! Crocodiles roam the swamp - a "floating" version, and a complete version as well (the head prints separate on the complete version so it's supportless). Last, but *certainly* not least, I present to you a massive sea troll! The sea troll lurks in the depths of both fresh and salt waters, and is known for it's rapid swimming speed and ferocious territorialism. The troll will also print supportless.

I have lots of these items printed and am finishing up paint and will post some pics soon (as well as painted pics of the harpies which turned out oh-so awesome). Let me know what you think, and let's keep 'er rocking!

Sea King's Malice - A match made in gaming heaven!
almost 5 years ago – Fri, May 31, 2019 at 05:00:40 PM

I have some exciting news to share! I often get asked for information about adventures and campaigns that exist for which the models and terrain from my Kickstarters fit, and boy do I have a great suggestion for you! The wonderful folks over at Frog God Games are running a tremendous aquatic/nautical-themed adventure campaign right now called Sea King's Malice. It's FILLED with exactly the type of stuff this campaign was designed for, including beautiful full-color adventure books.

We teamed up for a little fun collaboration, and I am excited to  announce that ALL backers of the Depths of Savage Atoll will be receiving custom designed STL files of the Sea King himself, both in a battle pose (on 2" base or unbased) and seated on his epic, shark-themed throne! The throne will also be included as a standalone item for all backers. I highly encourage you to go over there and check out their campaign, and I hope you are as excited about these models and the collaboration as I am!

Additionally, I will be chatting with Uncle Matt, the creative director from Frog God Games, over in a live YouTube stream about both campaigns, tabletop gaming, and 3D printing in general @ 6pm CST today. If you wanna tune in or watch it after the fact, follow the link HERE.
